Our Shielded Category 6A RJ45 In-Line Coupler requires no tools to connect ethernet patch cables. This device is an ideal solution for extending existing Shielded RJ45 Ethernet applications where the cables cannot be easily accessed or relocated. It is also a must have addition to any network technician?s toolkit for testing and diagnosing equipment issues where shielded infrastructure is implemented. The high-impact housing is combined EMI/RFI shielding and gold plated RJ45 contacts that meet or exceed the Category 6A TIA/EIA standard.
Category 6A cable, commonly referred to as Augmented Category 6, is a standardized twisted pair cable for Ethernet and other network physical layers that is backward compatible with the Category 6, Category 5/5e, and Category 3 cable standards. The cable provides performance of up to 500 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, 1000BASE-T, and 10GBASE-T for distances of up to 100 meters.
Network cabling standards are used internationally and are published by ISO/IEC, CENELEC and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). Since 1995, solid-conductor UTP cables for backbone cabling is required to be no thicker than 22 AWG and no thinner than 24 AWG, or 26 AWG for shorter-distance cabling.
